While we recognize the increasing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of music, it must be used responsibly. AI tools must never be used to imitate or replicate the distinctive sound, voice, style, or likeness of another artist or copyrighted work without permission.
⚠️ Prohibited Uses of AI in Music
The following uses of AI-generated content are strictly prohibited:
Mimicking the vocal tone, delivery, or identifiable characteristics of a real or known artist (outside of your own recordings & performances).
Reproducing melodies, instrumentals, or arrangements that closely resemble existing copyrighted works.
Creating deepfake audio or misleading content that falsely suggests origin, authorship, or artist involvement.
Uploading music to the wrong artist profile (whether AI or not) will also be flagged and blocked.
Example: If you generate a track with an AI version of another singer’s voice without their consent, it cannot appear on their artist profile.
🛑 Spam & Duplicate Content
To maintain a high-quality platform, we also prohibit content manipulation using AI, including:
Mass uploading of large volumes of tracks.
Duplicates with minor metadata changes.
“SEO gaming” uploads to manipulate discovery.
Tracks made just long enough (30+ seconds) to accumulate royalties.
Any content flagged under these rules will not be recommended or distributed further.
📝 AI Usage Disclosures
Roc Nation supports industry-standard AI disclosures in music credits, allowing artists to clearly indicate where AI was used:
Vocals, instrumentation, or post-production created or assisted by AI should be disclosed.
This transparency strengthens trust and does not penalize responsible use of AI.

Please note: DSPs may still exclude AI-generated content from algorithmic recommendations and playlist opportunities at their own discretion.
