๐ง Audio File Specs for Music Uploads
To ensure your music is delivered at the highest possible quality to all major digital service providers (DSPs), Roc Nation Distribution requires that all audio files meet the specifications below.
โ Accepted File Formats
We currently support two high-quality, uncompressed audio file types:
.WAV (.wav)
.FLAC (.flac)
These formats retain audio fidelity and are widely accepted by all major streaming and download platforms.
๐ Sample Rates
Your file must use one of the following sample rates:
44.1 kHz (standard CD quality)
48 kHz
88.2 kHz
96 kHz
176.4 kHz
192 kHz
๐ต Tip: 44.1 kHz is the most commonly used and widely supported sample rate for music releases.
๐๏ธ Bit Depth (Resolution)
We accept audio files with either of the following bit depths:
16-bit
24-bit
24 bit depths offer better dynamic range, especially helpful for mastering, but both are acceptable for distribution. (32-bit is not accepted - if you are experiencing an upload error, it is likely because the bit depth is too high.)
โ Not Accepted
Please do not upload:
MP3, AAC, or other compressed formats
Files with sample rates below 44.1 kHz
Bit depths lower than 16-bit / higher than 24-bit
Files containing clipping, silence at the beginning or end, or unmastered mixes
๐ฆ Final Delivery Checklist
Before uploading, make sure your audio:
Matches one of the accepted file formats, sample rates, and bit depths
Is fully mastered and final
Does not include fades or silence unless intentional
Has the correct file name and version (e.g., โSongTitle_MASTER.wavโ)
